Gratitude for Service and Blessings For the Journey

Dear Fellowship Family,

With both grateful hearts and a touch of holy sadness, we share this response to Katie Henderson’s announcement that she will be concluding her ministry with Fellowship in February as she steps into a new role with the World Communion of Reformed Churches in Hannover, Germany.

For the past three and a half years, Katie has served Fellowship Camp and Conference Center with deep faith, creativity, compassion, and joy. She has poured herself fully into this place and this community. Katie’s leadership has helped shape Fellowship into the vibrant, welcoming, and mission-driven ministry it is today. Simply put, Fellowship is better because of her.

Katie has left her mark in countless visible and invisible ways: in programs strengthened, relationships nurtured, systems improved, and in moments of laughter, prayer, and presence that only God can fully measure. She has modeled what it means to listen deeply, to lead collaboratively, and to approach ministry with both imagination and humility. The “big shoes” she leaves behind are real—and they are filled with love.

While we will miss her greatly, we are also filled with gratitude and pride as we bless her into this next chapter of her call. Katie’s gifts, shaped in part by her time at Fellowship, will now serve the wider church and the global communion. We trust that God, who has been so faithful throughout her ministry here, will continue to guide her steps and surround her with grace.

At the same time, we want to share a word of reassurance and confidence in Fellowship’s future. Even as we honor Katie’s legacy, we are move forward with hope. The Board and staff have already begun the discernment process for discovering the next person who will step into this vital role. Fellowship’s mission is strong, our community is resilient, and God’s work here continues - rooted in faith and fellowship, strengthened by partnership, and oriented toward an abundant future.

Transitions are never easy, but they are often holy. We give thanks for what has been, we trust God with what is ahead, and we remain confident in the ongoing ministry of Fellowship Camp and Conference Center.

Please join us in holding Katie in your prayers in the weeks ahead. We will celebrate her ministry with us at a special lunch on February 11th. You’re invired to join me there in to offer her gratitude for all she has given, and to give her blessing as she follows God’s call into new places and new possibilities.
