PERFROMANCE 1
PERFORMANCE 2
November 4 - Mini-Concert and Community Lunch at Fellowship (10:30am-2pm)
How did Imani get connected with Fellowship?
In 2020, the Imani Milele Choir arrived in Laurens County on their cross-country tour sharing joy through music and dance. Within hours of their arrival, the whole world headed into lock-down because of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic. What was scheduled to be a two-night stay with performances scheduled in the local area became a 281-night stay with only opportunities to perform virtually and to live out Christian community even during quarantine! Their message of hope in support of the work of the organization back in Uganda also became a sustaining message of love and hope for our community during the uncertainty of the pandemic.
Back again?
Last year, four years after they first came to Fellowship, the choir returned to wrap-up their 2024 tour and to prepare for the journey home. The choir members and their chaperone’s found this to be an important time of reflection and an opportunity to continue their physical and spiritual journey in preparation for their return home!
This year, the choir returns in October for what is becoming a regular stop and “homecoming” giving them an opportunity to share in the last few public worship experiences, enjoy some of Fellowship’s amazing hospitality and rest and relaxation. This has become a critical time for preparing bags, equipment, and hearts and minds for the ending of a tour and the continuation of their journey of faith as they return to Uganda.
